Code Mode: How Your KKPW Order Unlocks Free Coding Time for Kids

Every order over $50 at Knick Knack Paddy Wack now comes with something extra for the kids: free time on Code Mode, a personalised coding adventure built around a hero your child already loves.

Here's what it is, how the code reaches you, and how to use it.

What Code Mode is

Code Mode takes whatever character your child is obsessed with — a superhero, a footballer, a dragon, a pop star — and builds a coding course starring an original character inspired by that choice. The lessons are real, not gamified filler:

  • Python — writing actual programs
  • Linux & the command line — driving a computer from the terminal
  • Logic & problem solving — patterns, sequencing and algorithms
  • AI — how machines learn, prompting, bias, and when to trust it
  • Ethical hacking — spotting scams, strong passwords, staying safe online

It adapts as they go: sailing through means harder challenges, getting stuck means it eases off and rebuilds confidence. It suits ages 5 to 16, and the next chapter is generated when they finish the last one, so it doesn't run out.

How you get the code

There's nothing to claim and no form to fill in. Spend $50 or more in a single order and we'll email you a gift code shortly after your order is paid. It looks like CM-XXXX-XXXX.

The bigger the order, the more free time it carries:

  • Orders $50 or more — 14 days of Code Mode
  • Orders $100 or more — 30 days
  • Orders $200 or more — 60 days

How to redeem it

  1. Head to codemode.techdesignaustralia.com.au and create a parent account.
  2. Add a profile for each child, and let them pick their hero.
  3. Open Plan & billing and enter your gift code.

Your free days are added on top of the free week every new family gets — so a $50 order works out to roughly three weeks of Code Mode before you decide whether to continue. No payment card is needed for any of that.

What it costs after that

If you want to keep going, Code Mode is a monthly subscription priced by how many children are on the plan: from A$14.99/month for 2 learners, A$21.99 for 3, and A$28.99 for 4, all including GST. Cancel any time — your child's heroes, quests and progress stay saved either way.

The parent bits

  • No advertising, and no chat or messaging of any kind — there's nobody for your child to talk to but the lesson itself.
  • You hold the account. Each child signs in with a simple PIN, and the settings stay with you.
  • A weekly plain-English email tells you what your child actually learned, why it matters, and gives you something to ask them about at dinner.
  • You can export or permanently delete your family's data whenever you want.

The fine print

  • One code per family.
  • Codes expire 90 days after they're issued, so redeem before then.
  • Codes can't be exchanged for cash, transferred or resold.
  • If an order is refunded and its code hasn't been used yet, the code may be deactivated.
